The FFF/FDM method is to heat and extrude filaments delivered to the nozzle by the supply unit with a hot nozzle. It is the most basic and popular 3D printing method. Compared to other printing methods, the output unit price is cheaper, but the thickness of the solid filament has the disadvantage of showing the layer layer in the output.

The FFF/FDM approach is best suited for prototyping because it is the cheapest, most cost-effective and easiest to operate equipment or materials. The technology also provides the possibility to print materials ranging from plastic to metal.
